We are partnering with a major international industrial manufacturing group to appoint a Production Manager for its manufacturing site in Turda.

The facility is entering a significant phase of transformation and growth, supported by investment in equipment, manufacturing capability and organisational development. This is an opportunity to shape the production organisation, strengthen shop-floor leadership and improve performance as production volumes increase.

Your role

You will lead a production organisation of approximately 240 employees across multiple production areas and shifts, including operations running 24/7.

Working closely with the Plant Manager and site leadership team, you will take ownership of production execution, safety, productivity and people development. The position focuses on production, with close cooperation across Maintenance, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day production organisation, ensuring safe, stable and efficient delivery of the production plan.

• Take visible ownership of Health & Safety on the shop floor, identify unsafe conditions and behaviours, and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

• Strengthen the supervisor and shift-leader structure, clarify responsibilities and ensure appropriate leadership coverage across shifts.

• Implement consistent production-system standards, daily management routines, meaningful KPIs and transparent performance reviews.

• Improve labour productivity, workforce deployment and shift organisation to support higher output through a more efficient operating model.

• Identify bottlenecks, reduce operational losses and make continuous improvement part of everyday production management.

• Work with Quality and Engineering to reduce scrap and rework, improve process stability and strengthen adherence to production standards.

• Develop supervisors and frontline leaders, build accountability and improve communication between shifts and production areas.

• Support production ramp-up and the operational changes required for the site’s future growth.

Your background

• Several years of leadership experience in industrial manufacturing, with responsibility for a sizeable production organisation.

• Experience managing supervisors, shift leaders and frontline teams in a multi-shift or 24/7 environment.

• A strong track record in production management, productivity improvement and operational excellence.

• Practical experience introducing structure, accountability and disciplined shop-floor routines.

• Strong understanding of industrial Health & Safety and experience improving efficiency, quality, scrap or rework.

• Confidence working in labour- and equipment-intensive manufacturing environments where processes and management systems are still developing.

• A hands-on leadership style, strong people management skills and the ability to turn improvement plans into consistent daily execution.

Relevant backgrounds include industrial components, automotive suppliers, building materials, ceramics, metals, glass, machinery, engineered products and process manufacturing. Exact product experience is less important than successful leadership in a demanding manufacturing environment.
