About the Opportunity

This is a long-term career opportunity for candidates with a technical background and relevant experience in marine engineering, shipbuilding, ship repair, or related industries.

The successful candidates will support the planning, coordination, and execution of shipyard projects, working closely with technical departments, operational teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

  • Assist in defining project objectives, technical requirements, and implementation plans.

  • Develop and monitor project schedules, deadlines, and work plans.

  • Coordinate activities between technical departments and operational teams.

  • Monitor project progress, assigned responsibilities, and relevant documentation.

  • Support the management of changes to project scope, schedules, and costs.

  • Track project performance and report progress, issues, and potential risks to management.

  • Help ensure that projects meet technical specifications, contractual requirements, budgets, and deadlines.

  • Work closely with ship repair teams to resolve operational challenges and support efficient project delivery.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent relevant experience in the marine sector.

  • Relevant technical or project coordination experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, marine engineering, or a related industry.

  • Good organizational, planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and work effectively in a team.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.

  • Good communication skills and leadership potential.

  • Excellent English communication skills are essential.

  • Knowledge of Italian or other additional languages is an advantage.

Citizenship and Work Authorization

EU citizens are preferred due to the time required to obtain work permits for non-EU nationals.

Suitable non-EU candidates who are already legally residing in Malta may also be considered.

Salary and Employment Conditions

  • Annual salary: €35,000–€45,000 gross, depending on experience and qualifications.

  • Full-time, indefinite employment contract.

  • Employer-paid health insurance.

  • Paid annual leave in accordance with applicable Maltese legislation.

  • Standard working schedule: Monday to Friday, generally starting between 07:00 and 08:00 and finishing at approximately 17:00.

  • Additional working hours or weekend work may be required depending on operational needs. These hours are considered part of the overall salary package and are not paid separately.

Relocation and Accommodation

The workplace is located in Paola, Malta. Remote or hybrid working arrangements are not available.

Candidates must be prepared to relocate independently, as the employer does not provide a guaranteed relocation package.

Depending on availability and management approval, temporary accommodation within the shipyard’s facilities may be offered for a few weeks following relocation.

Such assistance is assessed individually and cannot be guaranteed.

Application Process

Interested candidates are invited to submit their CV in English through eJobs.

Applications will be reviewed by Global Recruitment Bridge (GRB), and shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an initial screening interview.
