Job Description

Your Work Context

The world's largest lock in Antwerp, an innovative quay in Panama, the sustainable and architecturally impressive Résidence Palace in Brussels, or the entire A11 motorway. All projects by Jan De Nul Group!

Civil engineering is where it all began for Jan De Nul Group, and it remains one of our key divisions today. Jan De Nul Group focuses on complex projects, offering both private and public clients comprehensive, tailor-made solutions. This approach, combined with our technical expertise and decades of experience, places us among the absolute leaders in the civil engineering sector.

Your Role

Today, Jan De Nul Group is taking on another major challenge in civil engineering: the Oosterweel Connection in Antwerp!

The Cost Assurance team for the Oosterweel project is expanding and is therefore looking for several Cost Assurance Analysts to join the team.

Your role will be based within one of the project's sub-areas or the overarching project organisation. You will help ensure that costs eligible for reimbursement under the NEC4 contract (New Engineering Contract) are properly substantiated, compliant with contractual requirements and in line with market standards.

You take ownership, proactively follow up on outstanding issues and ensure they are effectively resolved. Together with the Client, we place a strong emphasis on technology, making the data analyses you perform particularly interesting and challenging.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Provide analytical support and insights into reimbursable costs, translating your findings into concrete actions.
  • Review supporting documentation for reimbursable costs and proactively follow up on missing or incomplete information.
  • Coordinate and follow up on audits conducted by the Client, ensuring that related questions and requests are addressed within the organisation.
  • Engage with the Client to discuss observations or rejected costs and work together to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Contribute to the development and optimisation of procedures and reporting processes in close collaboration with Procurement and Cost Control.
  • Act as a representative of Cost Assurance, building strong connections between teams and stakeholders. When working within a project sub-area, you will also support the Cost Assurance Single Point of Contact (CA-SPOC). You ensure that Cost Assurance requirements are consistently integrated into decision-making and project execution.
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the NEC4 contract and its practical application.

What Do You Need?

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
  • You have several years of relevant professional experience and demonstrate the maturity and independence required to analyse complex cases and manage them autonomously.
  • You have strong analytical skills, are proficient in Excel and comfortable working with and analysing large datasets. You also communicate professionally and effectively.
  • You are solution-oriented, take initiative and proactively follow up on issues until they are fully resolved.
  • You work in a structured and project-oriented manner, can set priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
  • You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • You are fluent in Dutch.
  • You have a genuine interest in the Oosterweel Connection project. Experience in civil engineering or construction is an advantage, but not a requirement.
