Quality Assurance Engineer

- University degree in computer science or a related field with at least one year of software industry experience;
- Hands-on experience in software testing, networking, web-based and client/server applications is a plus;
- Strong system knowledge in Windows and Unices (Linux/FreeBSD/OpenBSD/Solaris/MacOSX) environments;
- Background in network protocols, infrastructure or computer security is a plus;
- Knowledge of the most used protocols: SMTP, HTTP, FTP, SMB, IMAP, POP3;
- Good understanding of QA methodology is a plus;
- Proficient in script programming (Perl/awk/sed/shell/batch);
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technical concepts;
- Self-motivated and proactive to solve problems and accomplish assignments independently;
- High analytical skills;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Good knowledge of English language in writing and speaking (knowledge of the German language is a plus).

- Plan and execute testing of server and desktop based security software on Windows and Unices platforms to ensure timely, high quality releases
- Cooperate with other functional departments and provide technical consultation to the extended team;
- Develop and implement automated tests;
- Providing technical support to AVIRA customers for Windows and Unix platforms;
- Keeping high-level customer satisfaction.
