Electrical Design Engineer

Automations and Controls Engineer,
• PLC programming using Siemens Simatic S7 and SCADA using WinCC (Windows Control Centre).
• PLC programming using Allen Bradley Micrologix and SCADA using Intouch.
• Fault finding PLC (Hardware and Software) and associated control systems.
• Control panel design such as PLC hardware systems, complex motor control centres (MCC) and various control panels to suit process requirements.
• Produce design package, which comprise of approved drawings, parts requisition list, parts list and user manuals. Order all the materials and components, which are issued to the workshop for manufacturing. Keep track of the progress of the job; responsibility that all the components are delivered on time and resolve any issues that arises.
• Attend various meetings such as project, production and safety management.
• Assist and support the Electrical Manager regarding electrical technical issues.
Electrical Design/Estimating Engineer, my duties were:
• Complex electronic/electrical control panel design such as switchboards and motor control starters (from 400V up to 690V). 3 Phase and 3 Phase 4 wire distribution boards. 24VDC distribution boards and various console-mounted panels, e.g. fire stop panels and navigation light control panels.
• Produce quotes from a client’s technical specifications document. Meeting clients and discussing their requirements, e.g. price, weight, delivery and all relevant paperwork.
• Produce design packages, which comprise of approved drawings, parts list and user manuals. Order all the materials and components, then issue them to the workshop for manufacturing. Keep track of the progress of the job, responsibility that all the components are delivered on time and resolve the matter if required.
• Provide technical support and backup to clients and other testing and commissioning engineers.
• Produce and edit drawings using AutoCAD (these are general arrangement drawings, panel layout drawings, starter circuit diagrams, power distribution diagrams, instrument loop drawings, cable single line diagrams, cable route drawings and cable schedules etc).
Also have good working knowledge and experience of programming programmable logic controllers (PLC).
• Allen Bradley Micrologix Series and SLC500
• Mitsubishi Fx Series
• Crouzet Millenium and Millenium 2

Familiar with the majority of the following manufacturers range of control equipment (i.e. AC-DC drives, contactors, relays, timers, mccb’s, mcb’s, pushbuttons, switches, level and flow instrumentation, measuring and monitoring instrumentation, sensors and transducers etc).
