Server Analyst

GENERAL DESCRIPTION :

SNC-Lavalin is seeking a server analyst within the Technological Products & Solutions group.

The candidate will have to take care of requests on production servers; he/she will be tasked with the installation of new physical and virtual servers and the different peripherals attached to servers; he/she will participate with the evolution of different technological products related to server maintenance and management, including tests phase and technical documentation.

The ideal candidate must have a proven professional high-tech experience. He/she must be comfortable working in a dynamic company with fast-changing business lines and needs. He/she must be organized and have analytical skills while being able to detect and eliminate obstacles that could hinder the solution through creative and adaptive approaches.

The candidate will be fully dedicated to the Windows 2008 migration project upon starting his new role.
REQUIREMENTS :

Diploma :
•Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology;
•10 years of experience with servers and Windows server;
•Professional certifications (MCSE, etc).

Technical Skills :
•Excellent knowledge and experience on Microsoft Windows 2003 and 2008 systems;
•Good Knowledge and experience on Windows 2003 and 2008 Active Directory;
•Knowledge and experience on SAN, backup systems and virtual environments is a major asset;

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Install, maintain and manage the servers across the company;
•Participate in updates and security patches deployment;
•Produce RFC’s and maintain infrastructure documentation up to date following the implementation;
•Participate in the evolution of different technological products that are part of our corporate server infrastructure (data replication tool, access management tool, etc);
•Management of all servers including configuration of printers/users/applications, disk space analysis, performance analysis and other related server activities;
•Research, analyze and propose solutions when there is a major or critical incident;
•Support to IT colleagues in our international offices;
•Support users when faced with complex issues related to data or application access on servers.

Working Conditions:
•Office environment;
•May have to work in overtime at night and weekends;
•Available for occasional short travels;
•May have to carry a cell phone and be on off-hours support.
