SkeletonCAD is a start-up company, spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL), which is developing a new Computer-Aided Design and Simulation software solution allowing mechanical engineers a faster product development process (improvement estimated at 30-50%). Unlike all current existing software, SkeletonCAD uses an innovative approach in representing and manipulating solid objects based on the principles of the Medial Axis Transformation (thereafter MAT) or popularly known as the skeleton of an object.
