Based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, you will be primarily responsible for maintaining and developing an Engineering team distributed across several locations (Romania, India and Poland) capable of executing projects for Systems and Software business delivering Process Simulation and Digital Twin solutions for various process industries (such as Pharmaceutical, Chemical, Oil & Gas, Refining and Power).

In this role you will:
* provide support in recruitment of new Engineering staff and engineering reviews;
* maintain and develop an engineering team that has a skill set profile aligned with the business forecast and the 5 years strategic plan;
* ensure that the engineering team has a skill set profile capable to deliver projects effectively and efficiently by utilizing Emerson global resources, standards, productivity tools, remote Engineering centers' capabilities while meeting quality standards, budget and schedule;
* support the budgeting and cost control process.

As an Engineering Team Leader, you will support the sales and proposals teams in the pursuit of new business opportunities by utilizing your skills and experience.

The job implies Working from Home flexibility.

* Project Execution – provide all necessary support to the engineering team on projects and participate in the engineering reviews, ensuring proactive utilization of methodologies, resources and techniques across all the engineering activities, minimizing the execution cost, whilst maintaining the requisite schedule and quality standard;
* Quality – be responsible for the overall quality of work undertaken by the team, including actions arising from audits, and in liaison with the engineering management and the Quality Manager ensure that the team is fully aware of Quality Control principles and procedures;
* Stakeholders Relations – develop partnerships, if applicable, with Emerson engineering centers, Emerson Front-Sales Offices and external customers, ensuring customer satisfaction across all the project work undertaken by the team;
* Team building – create an inclusive and supportive environment for personnel within the team and actively support team members in achieving any personal development objectives that may have been set;
* Line Management – act as a line manager for personal development or improvement, appraisals, grievances, performance feedback communication, recruitment etc. for the members of the assigned engineering team;
* Resource Management – support Resource Manager to ensure that all project and pursuit activities assigned to the Engineering Team are adequately resourced; when needed, secure additional resources – other Emerson staff from engineering centres, temporary staff, permanent staff, etc.;
* Resource Utilization – in collaboration with the Resource manager, manage the Engineering Team to achieve the targeted utilization and effectiveness;
* Process Improvement – in liaison with local or European engineering management, ensure that there is a culture of continuous improvement that leverages the resources of the wider organization, technical and process standardization, process automation tools and the sharing of knowledge in order to drive continual improvements in efficiency and effectiveness;
* Proposals/sales support – actively contribute to any assigned bid activities (depending on experience) to ensure that the customer’s requirements are fully understood, and that innovative and cost-effective solutions are proposed;
* Other responsibilities or tasks including those related to Ethics; Health, Safety and Environment; and Information Security policies that are within your skills and abilities, whenever reasonably instructed. * Engineering degree;
* Proficient in English (written and verbal) and an excellent communicator;
* 5+ years of experience in engineering related field;
* Strong leadership capabilities;
* Willingness to travel mainly for shorter periods (up to 20%) as required;
* Ability and talent to effectively build, manage and lead Engineering teams across different locations;
