Degree in Business administration or Finance desirable
Previous experience leading an accounting team in an international company desirable
Previous experience in travel or hospitality industry desirable
Up-to-date knowledge of all related legal aspects of Accounting
People management, mentoring and coaching, in a strategic as well as practical capacity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Very good analytical skills
Ability to multitask and to work through a hectic work schedule while motivating and leading the team by example
Capable of handling high volume in a timely manner with accuracy
Driven to succeed with a professional ´can do´ attitude and work ethic, focusing on results as well as client satisfaction
Demonstrated ability to establish and adhere to priorities in a fast pace environment and work independently
IT proficiency including good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (with particular focus of manipulating data via Excel) and internet technologies
Fluent in German or another European language beneficial
The role reports into the Chief Operating Officer.
Key relationships with clients, local guides, coach companies, porterage companies and other providers of ground services.
Key internal relationships with contracting, Sales and booking teams.
Manage the Accounting Department with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, fixed assets, Travel expenses including review and approval of the related documents and reports
Ensure client payments are received within company deadlines, overdues collected in a timely manner and debit notes solved fast and effectively
Ensure provider payments are made correctly within set deadlines
Use sound judgement to manage difficult client and provider situations, to respond promptly to all queries regarding open provider invoices and solicit feedback to improve service
Ensure a client focused approach is adopted in all aspects of the job and problems dealt with effectively
Proactively suggest solutions to improve existing processes and procedures
Keep deadlines for finalizing month-end posting including accurate calculation of accruals
Prepare internal and external reporting related to monthly, quarterly and annual closing
Responsible for day-to-day staff management issues with direct reports, mindful of the resource available in the team
Train and develop the team to achieve excellence
