Direct Tax Senior Consultant

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in economics, finance/accounting or law;
• Minimum 4 years of relevant professional experience in Direct Tax, either in consulting or in-house tax/accounting roles;
• Strong knowledge of Romanian tax compliance procedures;
• A solid understanding of Romanian accounting principles (RAS) - exposure to IFRS is a plus;
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret the Romanian Fiscal Code confidently;
• Professional certifications (e.g., CECCAR, CCF, ADIT in progress) are considered an advantage;
• Fluency in English and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
• Experience coordinating and mentoring junior team members;
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and clients simultaneously;
• Enjoy working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and contributing to team success.

• Be actively involved in direct tax compliance and advisory work for local and international clients;
• Prepare and/or review corporate income tax returns and WHT returns as well as related calculations;
• Assist clients during tax audits, including managing correspondence with tax authorities, preparing reconciliations, and drafting documentation and responses;
• Support clients with the implementation of fiscal changes, tax accounting matters, and optimization of tax positions within the applicable legal framework;
• Perform tax health checks and tax reviews, identifying fiscal risks and opportunities;
• Participate in tax due diligence assignments, offering insights on target entities’ CIT and WHT positions;
• Supervise junior team members, review their work, and contribute to their technical development;
• Stay up to date with fiscal legislative changes and contribute to internal and external knowledge-sharing;
• Collaborate with professionals from other service lines (accounting, legal, audit, transfer pricing) to deliver integrated tax services.
