Mandatory Skills:

  • Bachelor or Master of Science (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline with 2+ years of work experience;
  • High availability cluster deployment strong knowledge;
  • MySQL 5.7 CE and EE editions knowledge (install&configuration, backup/restore, administration);
  • Scripting knowledge (Bash or other);
  • PL/SQL knowledge;
  • Enterprise Manager Command Line Interface.
Nice to have:
  • Linux / Unix basic power user knowledge;
  • ITIL knowledge;
  • IBM Tivoli Storage Manager with RMAN with TDP interface;
  • Cloud deployment - Oracle Cloud Control;
  • Oracle DBVISIT;
  • MS SQL Server would be a plus. Projects where Microsoft SQL servers are used might follow later on.

We are seeking a talented Database Administrator to join our energetic, fast-paced environment. You will be part of the team supporting the client company’s business, working with a globally distributed team. Our client is a market leader in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Denmark in the fields of IT consulting, system integration and solution engineering, focusing on Oracle, Microsoft, and open source technologies. With over 650 employees working in 14 locations, the company provides support for more than 800 clients in the following strategic business fields: business intelligence, application development, infrastructure engineering, training and operations. According to the ongoing project and needs, moving between teams and the applications that are part of the solution is possible and encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintains, upgrades and troubleshoots business critical high availability Oracle DBs in production;
  • Performs DB performance tuning, data migration and DB server upgrades;
  • Provides backup and restore solutions, replication solutions, disaster recovery;
  • Monitors and optimizes the live DBs;
  • Keeps a continuous record of versions, releases and deployments across multiple live production platforms through various ecosystems.
