Communications / Marketing Assistant

Educational background & previous work experience:
- BA in a relevant field: communications & PR, humanities, journalism is a strong advantage;
- work experience in comms and/or PR, FR, marketing is a strong advantage;
- work experience within an NGO is a strong advantage;
- work experience within a national/international project is an asset.

Skills:
- English language – excellent reading, speaking and writing skills (essential);
- PC skills – excellent working knowledge of common office software, able to quickly understand, learn and work with new software (essential);

Abilities:
- able to work both individually and within a team;
- able to work efficiently and deliver results;
- able to learn new things and put them into practice;

Personality:

Main responsibilities:
The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the Communications Coordinator, in order to achieve the organizations’ fundraising and marketing objectives and to implement the WWF-DCP Communications Strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

Communications
Provides support for and carries out specific communications activities for developing and implementing the WWF-DCP/Romania communications strategy, including:
o writing, editing and translating communications materials: press releases, articles, interviews, news, presentations;
o maintaining relations with internal and external audiences: WWF-DCP/Romania, WWF-DCP colleagues in Austria, Bulgaria, Ukraine and Slovakia; WWF network colleagues elsewhere in Europe and the world; corporate partners; authorities, other NGOs;
o organizing and participating in various events: press conferences, press meetings, seminars, team project meetings;
o maintaining relations with journalists: responding to media requests, gathering specific project information for the media;
o maintaining and regularly updating the media database;
o media monitoring;
o updating and developing the WWF-DCP/Romania website (http://www.panda.org/romania);
o collaborating with communications partners and service providers, including advertising agencies, publishing houses, publishing houses, etc.

Marketing
Provides support for and carries out specific marketing activities including:
o market research: potential donors, partners;
o having an overview of the NGO market and specific fundraising/marketing activities carried out by other (environmental) NGOs in Romania, WWF Network, abroad;
o identifying cooperation opportunities/partners.

Fundraising
Provides support for and carries out specific fundraising activities including:
o writing, translating, editing specific materials: presentation, flyers, partnership proposals, project proposals;
o maintaining and regularly updating contact database;
o organizing and participating in meetings with potential donors;
o organizing and participating in specific fundraising activities.
