Web Application Developer – Finance Banking Project

Requirements

Mandatory skills
• ASP.NET 2.0+ (C#) / Experience using Visual Studio .NET 2005+
• Experience designing/architecting ASP.NET solutions
• General web development & design experience (e.g. typical 3-tier .NET applications, web services, remoting, HTML, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX,.CSS etc)
• Ability to demonstrate an understanding of concepts/topics such as OO, inheritance, managing threads, web services vs remoting, WCF, how to develop secure web applications, application tiers and good coding practices (naming conventions, error handling, code re-use, source code control etc.)
• General understanding of databases and database design
• Good problem solving, report writing and communication skills
Desirable skills
• ASP.NET (VB)
• Java
• Understanding of popular development methodologies, e.g. Agile, CMMI etc.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications
• Older technologies - .NET 1.X, ASP, COM+ etc.
• Project management experience
• Business analysis experience

Project description
An opportunity has become available in the Web Development team, part of the Web Services Team for a Web Application Developer, reporting to the Web Development Manager.
The web development team is responsible for the development of applications and services delivered to Client’s Europe members and Client’s staff through the web portal. The team is responsible for all development in the expanding area of value added services for member banks.
This role will be on-shore in Reading – UK for 3 months and then you will return to Cluj office.

Job description
Your main responsibilities will be to develop software systems; you will participate in logical and physical design of the product and understand the business requirements.
The job holder will form part of the team that develop new applications as requested by the business. The activity includes web site development for new and existing projects and applications. The role includes some element of enhancements, fault investigation and maintenance.
In addition to the development of new web sites and services, the position also provides 3rd level support to existing production applications.
