Senior Engineer, RF Traffic and Network Performance

• University degree in Electronics and Telecommunications or equivalent;
• At least 2-3 years experience in telecommunications (preferably in radio communication domain);
• GSM/GPRS/UMTS RF System Survey and Radio Tuning;
• GSM/GPRS/UMTS BSC Parameters and Counters;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Oracle–SQL and Java programming (would be an advantage);
• Excellent analytical skills;
• Well organized and structured person;
• Good level of English;
• Driving license.

The Role:

Monitors and analyzes traffic and network performance evolution in order to trigger corrective actions and recommend efficient network capacity upgrade solutions or radio parameter optimization. Controls the radio forecast process in order to achieve a high network utilisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyses the network performance by counters and network traces. Responsible for network regular performance monitoring and reporting.
• Responsible for the upgrading of the Network Monitoring System - in house-developed tool for network performance& configuration reporting according to technology or business evolution
• Defines methods to add capacity and triggers the capacity upgrades at cell level. Monitor and trigger efficient capacity upgrade solutions.
• Performs trials and make recommendations for radio parameters tuning and feature use in order to enhance the soft capacity of the network and /or optimise the network performance.
• Periodically tunes the capacity forecast model according to the used network technologies and traffic history. Identifies traffic profile of customers, analyses network coverage and plans for seasonal, regional traffic characteristics.
• Responsible for periodical / as needed reporting based on traffic analysis including billing data. Evaluate traffic impact of the Marketing initiatives.
