Engineer, IP Access Development

Requirements:
- Electronics & Telecommunication / Computer Science University degree
- 2-3years of experience within a service provider/ mobile operator
- 1 year experience in IP networking
- Advanced IP networking (routing & switching), VoIP, network security knowledge
- Overview of transmission networks, mobile networks
- SNMP, performance management tools
- Unix/Linux and MS operating systems
- Scripting and programming knowledge
- Database and reporting

Role:

Plans, designs and implements the IP Access Network infrastructure. Performs IP configuration and ensures the rollout of all IP services carried by this network.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, design and implements the multiservice IP network infrastructure, with focus on the access and service layers;
• Rollout of IP access solutions for dedicated data customers; deploy and upgrade the LAN access infrastructure for our enterprise;
• Establish configuration for network equipments (routers, switches, …); assign IP addresses and other specific parameters; maintain consistency of IP allocation database and other tools;
• Ensure good performance and optimal capacity of the IP access and aggregation network (performance monitoring, HW/SW upgrades, reconfiguration);
• Contribute with IP networking expertise in assessments or projects; offer input for the budgeting process and contribute to budget updates;
• Provide technical lead in IP access projects, carrying out assessments and feasibility studies and managing vendors or external consultants;
• Perform system analysis; perform testing of new equipments or pilot tests for new solutions;
• Provide technical presales consultancy;
• Document solutions, procedures and processes.
• Perform activities related to design, engineering and rollout of transport network in support of voice and data (mobile and dedicated) services
• Participate to departamental assessments about impact of new technologies.
