Database Specialist

Required abilities:
 Understand and comprehend relational database concepts and business processes
 Recognize opportunities to improve efficiency, and apply those concepts to business applications
 Extract data from and to databases
 Perform ad-hoc data analysis and reports
 Translate and apply user feedback to business applications developers. Understand and communicate data flow, interfaces and applications to internal clients
 Recognize and correct data inconsistencies
 Good problem-solving skills, analytical skills, team player, open minded with excellent communication skills, well organized and exceptional attention to detail is essential

Technical Skills:
 Solid MS SQL Server and/or Oracle database knowledge
 Good knowledge of database programming (experience with T-SQL and PL/SQL)
 Basic experience in building applications to support OLAP, including reporting/business intelligence tools (MS SQL Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, XML), data warehouse
 Applications experience with disaster recovery and backup management
 Development skills using .NET framework, VB6 are a plus

Education and Experience:
 Bachelor's Degree in Computer Sciences
 Minimum 3 years experience with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle large databases

Position summary:
This position will plan, develop, implement and maintain internal databases. This position supports the business needs of the organization by continuously evaluating the effectiveness of existing internal database systems and makes recommendations as appropriate.

Responsibilities:
 Design, implement and maintain internal database for operational effectiveness, using MS SQL Server and/or Oracle, including interfacing of internal database systems
 Performs data mining and data extract
 Develop and manage ad-hoc programs/reports
 Perform administration of database servers and related equipment
 Integrate databases with various applications
 Effectively manage internal clients’ relationships ensuring appropriate service
 Prepare and maintain database documentation
