UNIX Systems Administrator - AIX & Linux platforms

The ideal candidate should have:
• Required Skills 2-4 years of experience with installation, configuration and administration of Linux and AIX
• Experience administering Unix accounts, experience manipulating EMC storage on Linux or AIX servers, experience with a volume manager: SVM or Veritas or AIX LVM
• Exposure to installation, configuration and administration of Linux (Red Hat or SUSE)
• Demonstrated competencies of: utilities used to monitor a server's CPU, disk and network performance, the concepts of a file system, directory, file , especially from the perspective of permissions, group id membership and generating a Solaris explorer and/or AIX snap file and getting it to IBM;
• Knowledge of Unix storage concepts: using a volume manager (Veritas, SVM, LVM) for adding new storage, manipulating disk, volume groups, creating file systems, adding to appropriate files for mounting the file systems, etc.; adding storage to existing file systems
• Desired skills: NIS , EMC PowerPath exposure, scripting skills,web server installation and configuration - iPlanet or Apache (Apache compilation would be REALLY great)

This Unix administration position involves providing support for IBM AIX and Linux servers. This includes:

• User account administration (create, modify and delete Unix accounts)
• responding to user requests for modifying permissions on files, moving/copying files from one server to another, providing support for performance testing efforts
• extending storage on Linux and/or AIX using an LVM (SVM or Veritas)
• Ability to capture contents of Unix files and transfer to a repository in support of audit activities
• Exposure to clustering would be helpful
• Proficiency in English and willingness to work on a flexible schedule
