SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

Education:

• Computer science graduates (Automatics and Computers Faculty, Informatics, Faculty of Cybernetics)

Requested technical competencies:

• Expert in one non-OOP programming language (PASCAL or C)
• At least basic knowledge in a scripting language (bash, perl)
• Experience with the GNU Toolchain (make, gcc, gdb) and the Unix / Linux operating system
• At least 5 years working experience as a full-time software developer



Preferred technical competencies:

• Expert in one OOP programming language (Java preferred)
• ClearQuest or other bug reporting tools
• ClearCase or other versioning system
• Editors EMACS or VI
• Eclipse or other IDE
• Long-term experience as a full-time software developer in a large software project


Personal competencies

• Intercultural communication, including the empathy to work in an international team
• Analytical thinking
• Good level of self-organization
• Team-working
• Flexibility and availability to travel abroad from time to time


Languages:

• English
• German is a plus

Development of SW applications for the railway field, including

• Design, Implementation/Coding and Unit test (manual and automated test cases) in CHILL
• Application maintenance and bug fixing
• Documentation (English)
• Regular progress reporting

The development will be performed in a professional environment in close co-operation with experts in Austria.
