Project Information
1. Location
Throughout Alberta and North West Territories
2. Project Period
Up to two years
3. Housing
Terradac will provide work camp housing to all employees, who may also live at the work camp during “off time.” The exception is the 3-4 month off time for pipeline workers. Employees working on projects where there is no camp housing provided will be given a Living out Allowance (LOA) roughly equivelant to $80.00 per day.
4. Project Timing
Terradac has work booked in various sectors of the industry for the next 5 years with new projects coming on line weekly.
5. Transportation on Project Worksites
Provided by Terradac
6. Meals
Meals are provided for all workers staying in camps. For those individuals not staying in camps, meal costs may be subsidized using the L.O.A.
7. Normal Working Hours
§ Industrial employees: 10 hours per day
§ Pipeline employees: 12 hours per day
§ Each work day shall consist of 8.0 hours of straight time and the remaining time is considered overtime and paid at time and a half.
8. Estimated Work Rotation (depending on specific project):
§ Industrial: There are two possible shifts depending on which project the employees are placed on. The employee does not get to choose his shift as this is at the discretion of Terradac.
o 12 days on and two days off for 12 weeks then two weeks off
o 10 days on and four days off for 12 weeks the two weeks off
§ Pipeline: 24 days on and four days off for approximately three to four months, then three to four months off
9. Medical Benefits
WCB (Worker Compensation Board) payments are provided by the company. Upon arrival, workers are required to participate in Alberta Health Care at their own expense. Terradac will help facilitate the original sign up process and payments will be directly withdrawn from the employee’s bank account. Employees become eligible for CLAC’s extended medical benefits plan following the standard eligibility period.
10. Employee Payment
The Company will hire and pay employees directly every week in Canadian dollars, as per regulations. An example of estimated pay calculation and deductions for Tradespersons are provided in Appendix A. Wage estimates including loadings are provided in the Personnel Requirement Table below. The CLAC collective agreements vary depending on the job and therefore account for the variation in pay scale.
11. Practical Pre-qualification testing
In some instances Terradac may request practical pre-qualification testing of candidates for a given trade. The broker is obligated to organize these tests but Terradac will provide financial restitution for their services.
