Field Application Engineer

A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field. 2 or more years of progressive professional experience in software engineering or electrical engineering will be a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
• Knowledge of basic automation engineering and an understanding of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and practices applied to the operation and maintenance of digital motion control equipment and associated automation systems
• Knowledge of digital control systems architecture and operation, real-time control structures, microprocessors, DSPs and microcontrollers, fixed-point and floating-point operation
• Knowledge of computer and software engineering tools and concepts such as operating systems, software development tools, software modeling tools, and communication protocols applicable to perform development, testing, and installation of digital motion control in automation and control system operation.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures required to solve motion control problems as they relate to motion structure integrity analysis, control loops tuning, communication problems, multiple-axis operation
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
• Ability to work well with individuals, and to provide quality customer service to clients

Major Duties: This position is located in the Application Support Department of the company. The incumbent of this position provides highly specialized technical engineering work to support customer application engineering functions/projects. Duties include:

• Responsibility for pre-sales and post-sales technical support and resolution of customer issues regarding Technosoft OEM products. Work with end users to recreate customer scenarios in-house to verify reported problems. Collaborate with engineering and sales departments to resolve customer issues in a timely manner
• Performing of duties on digital motion control customer application projects based on company OEM intelligent drives products, and related activities that include evaluation, definition of specifications, design, implementation, development and testing of customer application
• Providing of engineering support in the areas of customer digital motion control application evaluation, diagnostics, field-testing, operation and maintenance, associated with the usage of Technosoft OEM drives and products
• Development of application notes, tutorials and FAQs to facilitate product adoption
• Analysis of customer application and environment, in order to identify sales opportunities for company products
• Possible requirement to provide technical presentations and product demonstrations
