Monitoring Engineer

- Engineering Degree or equivalent experience needed.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
-Medium level operating system management: file management, services, system tools – Windows 2000, Windows NT
-Office automation software: word processors, spreadsheets, databases, graphics packages
-Introductory level operating systems management: file management, services, system tools – Solaris, Linux
-Database concepts. Types of database organization, access and retrieval techniques: ODBC, SQL Server connections, SQL Queries, …
-Data communication principles, practices and restrictions: IP, Local Area Network, Wide Area Network, Firewalls, …

- Monitors server, security, event log, Batch Jobs monitoring
-Creates tickets for any of the alerts that are raised in the monitoring tools
-Responsible for notification and escalation to the resolution team
-Recognizes and takes appropriate actions to pro-actively prevent technical problems to happen.
-Performs tasks within schedule in accordance with established standards and guidance.
-Manages priorities in his/her own area and is able to recommend project trade-offs
-Handles all routine problems or routes them to a more knowledgeable IT professional
-Coordinates and follows change and problem management tickets/issues in his/her area of responsibility
-Prepares and recommends technical alternatives involving technology, methodology, tools, processes, and solution components
