Production Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced MS SQL Server Database Administrator to fill an exciting and challenging position of Production Database Administrator for a leading U.S. Software-as-a-Service company. This person will join a growing team and will collaborate with colleagues on three continents. The successful candidate will partake in thorough training internationally. The position requires a high degree of experience and creativity, and strong competencies in problem solving, interpersonal skills, planning/organizing and quality control.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Managing production databases and scheduling of packages
- Reviews of SQL usage logs, profiling the database operations, optimize database calls
- Making data changes to support the needs of business and client requirements
- Ensuring availability and performance of the production databases
- Proactively monitor the production database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime


REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor Degree or higher in Computer Science or related degree
- 4+ years experience in the database administration with at least 2 years in production database management
- Significant production MSSQL 2005 or later Database Administration
- Experience with production MS Analysis Server 2000 (or MS AS 2005) administration
- Exceptional understanding of the following: SSIS, DTS, Index structure, SQL job management and MS SQL Server Performance Dashboard
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English
- Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple database servers
- Ability to work effectively in teams and most importantly, work in a virtual environment
- Ability to travel internationally
- Ability to work independently to get job done
- Willing to work 8am – 12pm then 3pm – 7pm and on-call 24/7 for emergency

Nice to have: Microsoft Certification for Database Administrator (MCDBA and/or MCITP)
