SYSTEM ENGINEER BATTERY MANAGEMENT (IASI)

Knowledge and skills required for system integration and testing are:

Education and theoretical knowledge:
University degree (or comparable) in engineering sciences in one or more of the fields electrical/electronic engineering, control science, applied computer science
Embedded software applications
Software test methods
Software development processes
Control and system theory
Hardware knowledge / electronic circuits
Basic electrochemical knowledge

Practical knowledge:
Programming of microcontroller systems / embedded systems
C-code programming and debugging
Software or system testing
MATLAB/Simulink
Configuration and change management (e.g. CM Synergy)

Languages:
English: fluent, written and spoken

Other skills:
Team player, very communicative
Autonomous working
Systematic and accurate working

Main tasks of this area are:

To implement and test algorithms on the EWB hardware for battery monitoring concerning state of charge (SOC), state of health (SOH) and state of function (SOF) for the EWB backup energy supply storages. Preferred battery technologies are lithium-ion and lead acid systems.

To implement and evaluate on the EWB hardware different battery charging strategies in combination with the related monitoring functions for the selected technologies

To develop battery models and monitoring and charging functions with the corresponding safety and diagnosis functions for the EWB backup batteries with the help of simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink) and to transform suitable algorithms to the target hardware
