TECHNICAL MEDIA DEVELOPER

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in relevant technical discipline. Certifications in relevant technology areas such as MCAD, MCSD and/or MCTS are a plus.

EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role – .NET and/or BPEL Websphere
Software Developer
• Engineering experience across a range of Internet and enterprise service technologies,
broadcast or rich media environments
• Use/experience of formal design, analysis and project methodologies (Agile) and
toolsets

KNOWLEDGE:
• Good Object Oriented knowledge
• Experience with at least one of the following:
- .NET application architecture and integration with middleware and message bus
techniques and a good understanding of C# in general
- BPEL on Websphere with Websphere Process Server, Websphere MQ, Websphere WID
• Knowledge of the XML, XSD, Web Services and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)
• Experienced in providing solutions in the area of multi-tiered application architectures for hosting, media streaming, broadcast, E-commerce applications
• Understanding of media encoding formats, techniques and standards
• Experience in clustered application and database design
• Understanding of large scale IP based peering networks

The Technical Media Developer is responsible for the design, quality assurance and implementation of solutions delivered into the Internet rich media, convergent broadcast and enterprise space.
He/she will ensure designs align with technology strategy, that the design meets business needs of both Siemens and the customer.
The jobholder will also be responsible for client consultancy and technical support functions.

• Development of software solutions using .NET framework or BPEL on Websphere.
• Possibility to attend meetings with customers and engineering staff leading to the development of technical solutions and proposals.
