Software Engineer - Germania

*Required Experience
More than 2 yrs working as a software developer or technical lead is preferred
Experience in development of web-based, transaction intensive, highly available applications
Experience in designing new modules and enhancements for such applications

* Required Skills
UML notation as described for functional design specification
Expert knowledge of Visual Basic, Microsoft T-SQL, XML/XSLT
Exposure to standard software development processes such as RUP, Waterfall, or MSF
Fluent spoken and written English
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Able to communicate with team leads and other team members in Software development
Team player
Self-motivated, hard and driven worker, urge to be successful

* The software engineer develops new and enhances existing software modules within our highly qualified software development team. This includes reviewing functional specifications for completeness and clarity, creating, documenting, and reviewing technical designs, implementation of these modules, participating in code reviews, and execution of unit tests.
* We develop web-based applications for eSourcing in the B2B area. These applications are used by top 500 companies to streamline their sourcing activities. As such, these applications are high-volume transactional solutions designed for maximum performance, security, and availability.
* The development is based on the Microsoft DNA 2000 architecture, XML and XSLT in the presentation layer, using VB business components, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 T-SQL in the database layer. Dedicated modules are written using Microsoft ASP.Net 1.1 and C#.
* Review functional specifications for clarity and completeness. Functional specifications may be delivered in written form with a detailed user interface specification or using UML notation in the form of
- Business use cases
- Business object model
- Activity diagrams
- State diagrams
* Create technical design based on functional specification
* Participate in technical design reviews
* Implement new software modules
* Enhance existing software modules
* Participate in code reviews
* Perform unit tests
* Investigate and fix reported defects
* Investigate performance bottlenecks and identify improvement options
* Report on status (scope, schedule, quality, issues and possible solutions) to team lead
