| CANDIDATUL IDEAL:
We are seeking for a qualified stress engineer with solid background in Patran, nastran, composites and static analysis to ensure that the product definition derived from the conceptual design complies with the functional requirements and the certification requirements with regard to strength, design life, and stiffness. The main duties are:
1. Dimensioning (determining the dimensions) of the detailed design with regard to the strength, design life and stiffness;
2. Checking whether the product definition complies with the relevant requirements;
3. Formulating test specifications to demonstrate that a product definition complies with the certification requirements;
4. Writing or checking certification documents;
5. Analyzing and solving problems/complaints concerning the product definition during the manufacture and user phases.
The contract is for 12 months and will be based in The Netherlands.
The ideal candidate will have higher professional training in engineering, preferably aeronautical engineering; Ability to work in teams; Affinity with the execution of technical calculations; Good interpersonal skills; Good verbal and written command of English

Job description
Place in the organization: Reports hierarchically and functionally to: the Manager Stress Engineering.
Reports operationally to: the Manager Stress Engineering with regard to non-project-linked activities.
Reports operationally to: the person(s) responsible for the projects and programs within Engineering, with regard to the project-linked activities.
Objectives
The creation of conceptual designs that comply with the requirements for strength, design life and stiffness, and which results in a design with minimal weight.
Accountabilities:
In the Stress discipline the Conceptual Stress Engineer is accountable for:
a substantial contribution to the development of the state-of-the-art;
the correct input with regard to strength, design life and stiffness in the conceptual design;
he correct execution of the assigned activities within the set budget and planning.
Main Tasks
Translating the requirements regarding strength, design life and stiffness into various conceptual designs.
Developing conceptual designs which comply with all specified requirements, using an iterative and concurrent process, in cooperation with conceptual designers and manufacturing specialists.
Verifying whether the chosen conceptual design complies with the requirements.
Drawing up test specifications to demonstrate that a design complies with the certification requirements.
Contributing to the specification of the contents and size of the work packages within a project.
Analyzing and solving problems/complaints with regard to the design during the manufacture or user phases.
Contributing to savings in costs and reductions in the lead time of the work.
Coaching and supervision of new and less-experienced designers.
Contributing to the shaping of the technology policy of the department.
Authorities
Decisions with regard to the methods to be used in the subproject.
Release of conceptual designs and product definitions with regard to the functional requirements and the certification requirements in the Stress discipline.
Taking corrective measures to prevent the repetition of problems/complaints.

Job requirements
Higher professional training or academic education in engineering (preferably aeronautical engineering).
Insight into, and feeling for, the working of complicated constructions and mechanisms.
Ability to work in teams.

Good verbal and written command of English.
