Junior Analytics Technical Consultant

• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree - preferably in Mathematics-Statistics.

Provides programming expertise for application development using SAS tools and technology. Interacts with other consultants, project managers, and applicable departments intra company and with external customers.

Job Requirements:
• Working knowledge of common hardware environments and operating systems supported by the SAS System; Basic SAS programming skills;
• Good knowledge of data mining and statistics.
• Experience managing and analyzing data, preferably using SAS software
• Knowledge of transformations required to build effective data mining/analytical data sets.
• Knowledge of UNIX, and Windows environments preferred.
• Experience using relational database technology such as DB2 or Oracle.
• Basic conceptual and architecture understanding of solutions offered by SAS Institute.
• Working knowledge of GUI technologies based on Java and .Net (Microsoft)
• Exposure to testing and validation techniques in software engineering.

Major Responsibilities:

• Takes direction from Senior technical staff on work products that need to be created
• Understands SAS tools and technologies well and demonstrates effective use of them in a customer setting
• Provides solutions to problems assigned by the technical lead on the project
• Works well with the team in the project to meet the project objectives
• Communicates effectively with both the team members and customers both in the written and spoken form.
• Performs good quality testing of the work product developed
• Escalates technical issues with the team leader for solution
• Provides status on tasks assigned in the project to the tech lead and the project manager
• Ensure up-to-date knowledge in SAS and competitive solutions, through self-motivated approach to continuous learning.
• Actively participates in SAS knowledge-sharing activities.
• Documents programs and program flows.
