ENGINEERING MANAGER, Location: Cluj-Napoca

Together with our client, the Hewlett-Packard (HP) R&D Center in Cluj-Napoca, we are seeking to hire an Engineering Manager. The R&D Center, established in March 2007, works on all of the major software products of HP’s Business Services Automation (BSA) unit.

The position is located in Cluj-Napoca.

Requirements:
- experience developing and implementing best practice process and methodology for a R&D organization
- strong leadership qualities, including adaptability, creativity, high energy, ability to work and provide leadership in a team environment
- proven ability to coordinate with others while driving organizational change
- strong project management skills with a proven track record of successful product delivery
- proven leader with experience building and energizing strong engineering teams
- strong analytical, writing and communication skills
- strong work ethic and ability to multi-task while maintaining a high attention to detail
- bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years experience in a managers role (engineering management experience in an enterprise software company is highly desirable)
- system administration, network administration or operations management experience is preferred
- excellent English oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities:
- manage the day-to-day issues for our five project teams (NAS, SAS, ASAS, PAS, and Technical Support)
- ensure the teams are delivering high quality software and world-class customer support
- encourage and maintain open communication and team work inside teams
- create a motivating and exciting engineering environment
- serve as main liaison between Romania R&D center and the US engineering teams
- maintain strong communication with your counterparts in the US regarding the risks, deliverables, and timelines
- encourage and maintain open communication across US and RO teams
- report weekly statuses to the counterparts in US
- recruit and hire only the best and brightest engineers
- help our US counterparts understand the local recruiting context (skill sets, experience, and availability of resources)
- establish and manage a best practice training process for new hires to guarantee the quickest path to productivity
- define and manage ongoing training processes for the entire engineering team
- provide ongoing feedback to team members which maximizes their professional growth and performance
- assisting the engineers in achieving their professional objectives
- managing relationships with the local and country-wide universities
