Release Manager

If you have . . .

. . . 2-5 years experience in Release Management, Operating Processes, Application Management, Software Development, System Administration and/or technical Project Management in Software Development or IT Services field
. . . strong conception skills, think in terms of structures and processes - and find, however, pragmatic solutions. Even when your attention is drawn by more subjects at the same time, you maintain a good overview.
. . . Through your communication strength and your friendly and confident appearance, you are able to work with processes, to achieve acceptance, to demand and to promote the compliance with the processes, as well as to avoid conflicts.
. . . a sense for figures, think analytically, you have a keen perception and willingness to learn, are flexible and like new challenges. You work independently, accurately, structured and target-oriented.
. . . You have good or very good Office knowledge and have experience with ticket systems, respectively tracking tools such as Bugzilla, Jira or similar.
. . . positive “can do” attitude, problem solver and solution provider.
. . . excellent written and verbal English skills.
. . . readiness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Would be a plus:

. . . experience and knowledge of application servers: Tomcat, JBoss.
. . . ITIL knowledge and, ideally, possess an appropriate certification
. . . German language skills.
. . . experience with Unix/Linux servers configuration and administration
. . . experience in using SVN/CVS, Ant, Maven 2, Nexus (or other artifact repositories), Hudson/Jenkins
. . . passionate in tackling new technical challenges and studying alternate technologies and solutions.
. . . immediate availability.

What you will do?

You will . . .

. . . support the Quality, Operations & Services Department within the Software Development Hosting Sector in the design and optimization of our operative processes and in the day-to-day operations.
. . . organize, direct, and manage activities for building and maintaining software releases for their promotion to the production environment
. . . create, document, optimize and facilitate the operative processes and promote their implementation.
. . . process independently the incoming change reports and provide for the necessary coordination and communication.
. . . intensively participate in the design and the implementation of standardized release processes within the sector.
. . . closely cooperate with the Development, Project Management, Quality Assurance and System Administration.
. . . process data and information for monitoring and reports.
