Release Engineer

The ideal candidate is highly technical and detail oriented. The candidate must have also excellent communication skills.

• Automate our product builds to fullest extent possible
• Ensure development issues such as build breakages are quickly escalated and resolved
• Maintain, extend and integrate all our automated smoke tests, unit tests, performance tests in a Continuous Integration environment
• Interface with developers, qa, IT to resolve build, production and staging issues
• Administer source control system; be able to branch, merge, and tag during development cycle
• Deployment of different applications (web application, client server applications, databases, etc), tune the performance and be able to configure balancers, clusters and session failover mechanisms
• Maintain different applications in production: understand the log files, tune the VMs, inspect the runtime parameters, and configure various run scenarios

Requirements:

• At least 1 year build, release or tuning experience. Proven skills in maintaining scalable build systems Passion for builds and deployments
• Understanding of the J2EE platform
• Knowledge of a programming language: bash, Groovy, Ruby, Perl, Java
• Build tools: make, ant, maven2, ivy
• Source control systems such as SVN/CVS/Git and administration of SCM systems
• Continuous Integration servers: Hudson, TeamCity
• Familiar with JVM
• Linux
• MySQL
