Purchaser

The company is looking for professional food Buyer who will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager. The Buyer is expected to have a significant experience in working with marketers and product developers and should have a significant understanding of discount characteristics. This position is a very cross-functional position requiring a good and close collaboration with sales, logistics and accounting. The Buyer should have:
- very good analytical skills, being able to analyze statistics and trends
- a high degree of commercial awareness
- good communication skills (verbal and written)
- good negotiating skills
- a high degree of initiative with a strong desire to improve skills and drive change
- ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- good decision-making skills
- ability to work to tight deadlines
The candidate should have also:
- excellent communication skills in English (German will be an advantage)
- University degree
- min. of 5 years experience in purchasing and at least 2 years in purchasing food products

-negotiate contracts with suppliers
- work with suppliers to develop new products, and re-launch existing lines
- monitor market changes, competitor prices and products, and past sales patterns to forecast future demand
- source new products and alternative suppliers
- help control stock levels through delivery schedules or recommending clearance sales
- monitor the performance of product lines and suppliers and take necessary decisions
