Project Manager - ADOBE Web Infrastructure Team

Knowledge & Skills:

* B.S. or M.S. degree in Computer Science
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position (management)
* Minimum 6 years of experience in the web industry
* Familiarity with Web 2.0 concepts and applications such as folksonomies, blogging, wikis is mandatory
* Passionate about technology
* Ability to understand and process complex technical information
* Able to work independently to identify issues, define architecture, assign & track tasks
* Ability to maintain a project schedule.
* Able to plan, lead and manage workload for a small team
* Solid foundation in development process, best practices and design patterns
* Knowledge of web-related technologies, including, but not limited to JavaScript/Ajax, CSS, (X)HTML, DOM, etc. Flex and ActionScript represent a plus.
* Strong knowledge of at least two web-scripting language (JSP, PHP, Coldfusion, ASP, etc).
* Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with at least one Database Management System (MySQL, MsSQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc)
* Knowledge of Java server-side programming: JSP, J2EE.
* Client-centric thinking

Position Summary:

As an Engineering Manager you will be responsible for the Web Infrastructure team inside Adobe Romania. The team will be a medium one (6-7 people), and will be focused on the development of a community-driven project that will change the way customers engage with Adobe e-learning resources.

You have to be a highly technical person (web development), with people management and good communication skills. You must be customer-focused, and be able to communicate a strong vision to your team. Above all, you must be enthusiastic, view challenges as opportunities, and collaborate well with the other engineering managers, customers and product team-members.

Engineering will report directly to you and you will be solely responsible for meeting development schedule and quality goals. You will be in charge of hiring the engineers in your team, including quality engineers.

Responsibilities:

* Lead the team, plan and manage its workload by assigning work, monitoring and resolving problems, anticipating potential conflicts and issues.
* Work independently and own multiple features of the project
* Review and contribute to architectural and feature specs
* Create development plans and schedules
* Mentor team members by providing knowledge and expertise
* Provide team and feature status to management
* Hold regular team meetings
