CHIEF ACCOUNTANT

Our client is a major British company with a Romanian head office in Bucharest. They are urgently seeking a Chief Accountant to join their expanding and busy financial department. You must have a minimum of 3 years experience in accountancy at a managerial or supervisory level in a commercial accounting department. You will speak and write fluent English and be committed to a long-term career in accountancy. You will rely on your own excellent initiative and be a team-player. Responsibilities entail the financial control of a multi-site retail business. Financial reporting to local management and UK/US directors. Supervision of the accounts department. As a member of the senior management team, you will report to the GM and to the Financial Controller on all board matters.

You will be responsible for cash control of 146 shops. Ensure that suppliers and salaries are paid on time and accurately, making accurate and timely reports to local management and the board of directors on a monthly basis, trial balance reviews, reconciliation of balance sheets, maintenance of stock records, government tax returns, petty cash control and reporting and providing support and guidance to the management team and company departments. Supervision of 6 staff, support to GM in all financial matters. As part of a senior management team, provide financial guidance and support to all team members and their departments.

This is very much a long-term position and as such will only suit somebody dedicated and serious about their future. The position commands an attractive salary with a review after three months; fully expensed car; mobile phone and laptop (if required).
