Senior Purchasing Specialist, electronics department

- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or electronic
- Background in electronic and electromechanical component purchasing

- Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing (within the Automotive Industry is an advantage);
- SAP (is an advantage)
- Proven effectiveness in working in a global, multicultural environment.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proven experience in complex supplier negotiations including preparing and administering Long Term Agreements;
- Results oriented, enthusiastic and enjoys challenges
- Strategic thinker; uses creative and innovative problem solving approach

Our client manufactures and markets consumer-branded automotive products for the aftermarket consumer, as well as for automotive equipment manufacturers and installers, with household brand. With revenues of $4.5 Billion, our client is a leader in automotive product research, development, engineering, and manufacturing technology for turbochargers, filters, spark plugs, brake pads and car care products.

For this client we are seeking a Senior Purchasing Specialist for the Bucharest location. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure that our Client’s needs for external goods, within agreed areas of responsibility, are fulfilled at the lowest cost of ownership, while meeting all requirements for quality and service. More specifically, this role will:

1. Meets/exceeds Analytical Operating Procedure (AOP) and Structural Analysis Programs (STRAP) performance objectives by:
- Working with suppliers to reduce product costs;
- Developing and executing comprehensive sourcing strategies
- Optimizing supplier base size;
- Implementing TCO costing models;
- Growing Emerging Region expenditures;
- Implementing timely and cost-effective VA/VE actions;
- Negotiating short term and long term Agreements ( including pricing, quality, lead-time, mode of shipment and payment terms) ;
2. Owns Cost, Quality, Delivery, Lead-Time, Raw Material Inventory, DPP and service productivity for assigned commodities;
3. Owns Data Integrity in ERP system (JDE, SAP or other system) and in One Source for assigned commodities;
4. Monitors and reports performance of suppliers and related industry macroeconomic trends to peers and stakeholders;
5. Assist engineers in development
