PROJECT MANAGER - for SHIPYARD in DUBAI

Purpose:
Lead a Project team and ensure day to day running and execution of Ship repair/ conversion/ refit projects


Personal Profile

Education: Should be a degree or diploma holder in engineering.
Experience: The incumbent should have a sound knowledge of ship systems such as but not limited to AC Plants, Diesel Engines, Ship Control Systems, Refrigeration, HP & LP Air Compressors, Pumps, RO Units, Sewage treatment plants and Hydraulics . Exposure to a Naval environment is preferable. Possess strong communication skills & Man management skills.
Computer skills: Must have a sound knowledge of MS Office packages. Expertise in project softwares like Primevera / MS Projects is desirable.

- Responsible for the day to day running of the refit/work schedule onboard a vessel in refit.
- Responsible to undertake hull and machinery/equipment surveys and raise the appropriate Inspection Reports to submit to the client, following comments from the client assist with the raising and costing of Variation Orders.
- Monitor and coordinate ship repairs and make recommendations on the project schedule.
- Provide technical expertise, advice and solutions to repair solutions.
- Assist the Project Manager with daily planning reviews and to make recommendations to ensure compliance with the schedule.
- Discuss resource requirements/allocation with the project manager
- Ensure adherence to QA and HSE policies
- Ensure that the project documentation is correctly maintained.
