Telecom NOC Engineers (Prague / Czech Republic)

We look for several people in these fields: voice, ip, transmission.

Job description:
# Work in the Network Operations Centre on a 24x7 shift rota basis.
# Conduct network surveillance and proactively initialise fault resolution and priority.
# Carry out first level fault diagnostics across the network
# Conduct preventative maintenance and analyses of circuit performance
# Open trouble tickets from network alarms or external fault reports
# Track trouble tickets assigned to the NOC
# Escalating trouble tickets, both technical and to management
# Carry out vendor and supplier contact and escalation for fault resolution.
# Co-ordinate field operatives across Pan European Network
# Support Local Ops with Diagnostics and maintenance
# Liaise with customer representatives to obtain fault resolution.

Person specification:

Knowledge:

Voice:
* Minimum 3 years experience in Telecommunications with at least 1 years experience working in a Network Operations centre.
* Use of network management tools such as Preside ,Netcool or SMARTS.
* Conversant with telecommunications operational processes and procedures.
* Technical understanding of Voice, SDH transmission and DWDM services.
* Good understanding of VOIP principles and of the components of a VOIP network.
* Good understanding signalling protocols SS7 Variants, Q.931,. Knowledge of SIP and H.323 advantageous
* Understanding of UNIX and derivatives such as Solaris and Linux
* Knowledge of IP services would also be an advantage

Transmission:
# Experience of working in a large established Operations environment for a Telco or large ISP essential.
# Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications.
# Experience of NOC shift patterns.
# Good basic fault finding techniques.
# Experienced user Alcatel RM/SH preferred but not essential
# Experienced user Ciena On Centre / TMN preferred but not essential.

IP:
* Minimum 3 years experience in Telecommunications with at least 1 years IP technical support position.
* Use of IP management tools such as InfoVista, HP Open view or SMARTS.
* Conversant with telecommunications operational processes and procedures.
* General technical understanding of Voice, SDH transmission and DWDM services.
* Knowledge of OSPF, BGP, TCP/IP.
