Procurement & Logistics Coordinator

- Procurement experience

- Experience with contracting for ocean shipments, airfreight, trucking, freight forwarding

- Source, quote, negotiate, select and expedite suppliers.
- Place and expedite orders.
- Process requisition, research products, clarify specifications, document competitive bidding, prepare purchase orders.
- Secure cost savings through unit price reductions and less costly alternative solutins.
- Consolidate the supplier base and negotiate purchasing agreements.
- Understand internal customer needs and work with suppliers to meet those needs in most cost-effective manner.
- Resolve payment and delivery issues and or refer issuesw to appropriate level of supervision.
- If needed, supplier visit to qualify, evaluate and implement agreements.
- Bring in additional resources (outside vendors, suppliers, etc. ) to help solve complex problems.
- Periodically conduct supplier / vendor performance reviews to determine if the vendor is meeting the needs of the company.
- Control material supply in an effort to satisfy production requirements.
- Track and trace international shipments, coordinate arrangements for domestic transport.
- Manage freight forwarder and custom agent relationships to facilitate inward importation of materials and supplies.
- Review importation documentation to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance before the shipments reach their destination.
- Analyse and evaluate different shipment method alternatives to recommend the option that provide the ideal mix of cost/reliability/speed.
- Measure and evaluate the performance of freight carriers, freight forwarders, customs agents, etc., make recommandations for the right mix of vendors to optimise cost/reliability/speed.
