Senior Project Manager Operational Projects and Processes

- University degree in economics / logistics
- Good understanding of retailing and the supply chain, logistics needs of this business
- Relevant experience in logistics, preferably with a multinational company (LSP or retailer)
- Combination of operational experience and responsibility with the capability to define standards and procedures based on this experience
- Fluent English;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Analyze current operational situation and defining improvement steps in different sectors of Logistics operations
- Defining operational reporting and implementing this together with the LSP
- Managing the LSP not in the daily business but in the developments of services for our needs and defining improvement steps for the LSP
- Acting like a consultant for the LSP and for the colleagues involved in daily operational tasks
- Project management, from the project idea until the implementation, in cross divisional teams
- Keeping a close contact with our clients to understand their logistics needs and create projects out of these
- Building up benchmarks for our internal processes and for the LSP processes
- Creating new standard operational procedures and implementing them together with our operational departments
- Deputy for Senior Manager platform operations replacing him also in the daily operational responsibility (in Holidays)
- Create a link between the daily operations and the constant improvement projects
- Business key user for main applications

We, the MGL METRO Group Logistics, are the strategic logistics company of METRO Group and the internal logistics service provider across all sales divisions and countries. MGL controls the worldwide merchandise flows of the METRO Group companies and is responsible for the smooth transportation and distribution of more than 1.2 million packaging units every day to the more than 2,400 stores of the METRO Group in 30 countries.
We are developing and optimizing the Logistics concepts according to the needs of the sales divisions (starting with the analysis of the current situation). We are responsible for negotiations with suppliers regarding logistic terms, tendering and management of logistics service providers and the daily performance of logistics activities.
