Business Controller - reporting to the CFO

For our Financial Department, we are looking for a Business Controller to join our team.

Job requirements are as follows:

• Bachelor degree in economical field (ACCA degree or attending the last ACCA exams is a must)
• Minimum 3-4 years in a similar position; previous experience in a big four company and retail/FMCG is a plus
• Very good IFRS knowledge
• Cost and budget management
• Previous experience in SAP (modules FI/CO) is a must
• Fluent in English
• Very good MS Office Skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Analytical thinking and very good organizational skills
• Goal and results oriented
• High level of commitment and accountability to get the job done
• Leadership and team building skills
• Flexible and self-motivated
• Pro-active team player, able to work independently

Business Controller will report to the CFO and will be responsible for: budgeting and forecasting, monthly closing process, business controlling.

Budgeting and forecasting
• Preparation, consolidation and distribution of company budgets and periodic forecasts
• Preparing different reports for Board meetings
• Preparing the forecasted cash flow (on a monthly/quarterly/yearly base)
• Monitoring business performance, define, evaluate and improve financial KPI’s
• Participating in some major projects (financial systems updates: implementation of new planning and reporting tools; implementing the KPI’s inside company, etc)
• Makes recommendations for improving the financial operations and the financial position of the company;
• Manages design and implementation of systems and processes supportive of the budget development and approval process while maintaining integration with other systems and processes
• Develop, implement and maintain financial policies, procedures and systems to ensure financial reporting accuracy and asset protection

Coordinates the monthly closing process
• Preparation of monthly stand-alone and consolidated IFRS reporting (Balance sheet, Profit and Loss Statement, Cash Flow/ by entities)
• Deferred tax calculation
• Review the month-end adjustments (accruals, provisions for payables, receivables, inventories, fixed assets)
• Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
• Inter-company reconciliation statements
• Analyses the variance and evolution of performance and financial actual indicators compared to the budget / previous periods and forecast;
• Supervision of accounting transactions in order to ensure proper classification of transactions according to the profit/cost centers
• Cost centre analysis against budget and forecast

Business controlling
• Provides explanations for the variations between the budget and actual performance and propose corrective measures in case of negative actual/budget deviations
• Advises management on financial resources, trends, and the results of operations
• Examines and analyses accounting records to determine financial status of the company
• Makes recommendations for improving the financial operations and the position of the company
