Person Profile

Experience - Essential
• Graduate calibre with several years of large scale server management experience.
• Windows NT, 2000 and 2003 Server
• Active Directory
• Knowledge of Server monitoring software –BMC, MOM, HP SIM
• Arcserve/ Brightstor Backups troubleshooting experience.

Experience – Desirable
• MCSE NT/2000/2003
• Experience on Compaq and Fujitsu
• Knowledge of scripting language i.e. VB, Jscript or Perl
• SMS2003 knowledge

• Self-driven and able to work by yourself or within a team
• Be able to work with minimum supervision as well as perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Flexible and dynamic style
• Team player (ability to work with other teams to provide a service to a client to an agreed SLA)
• Client able (will be based remotely and may be asked to produce reports of recommendations).
• Client Facing Skills - May be required to meet with the client to enable technical engagement to occur.

Key responsibilities will include the day to day management and support of servers, pro-active maintenance of the server estate, monitoring and ensuring that contracted services are met. Typical activities will include:

• Monitoring of the servers and addressing any issues raised.
• Break fix via the Call Logging ticketing system for these servers.
• Technical Issue escalation and management.
• Day to day proactive server support and maintenance
• Developing and implementing service improvements.
• Supporting Infrastructure Applications i.e. SMS
