Field Service Engineer, position 0003

Requirements:
· background in Electronics/Hardware Engineering;
· will master in writing and speaking English language;
· good knowledge of German, French, Spanish, etc. languages will be an advantage;
· experience in building, configuring and supporting hardware equipment (including PC hardware);
· should be familiar with operating systems (Windows NT/2000) user and maintenance level.
· thorough knowledge of communication (WLAN, LAN, RS-485) and the IT-systems involved;
· experience with networking products, network related software & hardware installation & support will be an advantage (HP, IBM, Cisco, Windows 2003 Server);
· experience in HF and UHF will be an advantage;
· good knowledge of Office 2000;
· good knowledge of Quality Standards ISO 9001;
· knowledge of Visio 2000 will be an advantage;
· experience with delivery of large and complex systems;
· be able to deliver thoroughly tested and well-documented first class solutions;
· be able to work by yourself but also in teams and keep deadlines and agreements;
· strong analytical, presentation and communication skills;
· the ability to quickly assimilate new technologies;
· be innovative, highly organized, with excellent interpersonal qualities and a confident personality;
· good planning and problem solving abilities;
· mechanical flair would be an advantage;
· be able to travel related to system deployments and service worldwide (approximately 150-180 traveling days per year).

Responsibilities:
· will be in charge with installation and service of our RFID systems as well as WLAN and hand-held units etc. worldwide;
· will be responsible with trouble-shooting, corrections of errors as well as preventive maintenance of the equipment installed;
· will be involved in site surveys, including writing reports, installation and test of equipment at the customer site;
· will ensure to a limited extent test and preparation of equipment as well as test of new equipment etc. at our headquarters;
· will have significant customer facing service role, able to work with clients directly, presentation and discussions of ideas, able to discuss and evaluate approaches to customer requirements;
