Project Sponsor

For our client, a multinational company that develops, acquires and operates electric power and district heating businesses around the globe, we are looking for a Project Sponsor.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science or business with 5 to 10 years experience in engineering and construction in a utility business (CHP preferred). Experience must include project management.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, technical excellence and project and people management skills and strong planning and budgeting skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and motivational skills. Must be able to communicate well with all levels of personnel in multiple languages. Must be able to address issues with owner, contractor and Site Engineer in an effective manner to secure cooperation for the successful outcome of the project. Multiple language skills a plus or ability to work easily with a translator.
- Must be able to travel internationally on a regular basis and may be required to spend significant time on site if necessary.

- Conduct due diligence and work with engineering team to optimize project configurations including connections to gas and electricity grids.
- Manage and drive third party consultants and suppliers including legal, technical, commercial, financial and regulatory teams.
- Assist analysts with all technical assumptions to develop robust financial model.
- Identify all required local environmental, construction and other permit requirements and working with the permitting manager as necessary, ensure such permits are obtained in a timely manner.
- Negotiate third party project contracts as necessary with advice from and consultation with other project sponsors.
- Develop the client relationship by communicating regularly with the client at all appropriate levels and ensuring the client’s understanding of the project development.
- Interact with the other project sponsors regularly and ensure the organization is kept abreast of all progress and developments on a weekly basis or more frequently as required.
- Develop new opportunities for the Solutions business and identify potential third party off take customers for energy and/or CO2.
