LINUX Middleware Development Engineer

We are looking for an outstanding applicant who can demonstrate the following qualities:

Professional competencies

Education:
- Computer science graduates (Automatics and Computers, Informatics or Cybernetics)

Requested technical competencies:
- Expert in the C programming language
- Minimum 2 years experience development of LINUX applications
- Very good knowledge of POSIX
- Very good knowledge of synchronization and multi-threaded programming
- Very good knowledge of the GNU toolchain
- Knowledge of at least one scripting language (expect, bash, python, other)

Preferred technical competencies:

- LISP knowledge
- ClearQuest or other bug reporting tools;
- SVN or other versioning system;

Personal competencies:
- Intercultural communication, including the empathy to work in an international team
- Team-working
- Flexibility and availability to travel abroad from time to time
- Highly motivated

Languages:

- English
- German is a plus

Short task description

Development of safety-relevant applications for the railway field, including:

- Design, Implementation/Coding and Unit test (automated test cases)
- Application maintenance and bug fixing
- Documentation
- Provide support to application developers
- Regular progress reporting

The development will be performed in a professional environment in close co-operation with experts in Austria.
