CANDIDATUL IDEAL:

An understanding of Linux operating systems such as RedHat/CentOS including the following:

- Ability to compile/recompile RPM packages

- Knowledge or a desire to learn Bash and/or Perl scripting

- A strong understanding of some or all of these Linux technologies:

* Apache, MySQL, ProFTPd, Bind, Qmail, Postfix, Courier-IMAP, PHP, Perl, Python, SpamAssassin

A basic understanding of some or all of these Windows technologies (not mandatory):

* IIS, MSSQL, .NET, ASP, Active Directory, MPS, Win2k3, Win2k8, Windows Streaming Services

- Fundamental understanding of DNS and TCP/IP

- A desire to troubleshoot basic and technical problems with all of the above


Experience using the following is a bonus (note, all applicants will be considered as full training will be given):

- Virtuozzo for Linux

- Virtuozzo for Windows

- Plesk for Linux

- Plesk for Windows

- Parallels Business Automation Standard (HSPcomplete)

- Parallels Automation (PEM and PEM.Billing)

Experience working on a helpdesk is an advantage, but not required.

Must possess a high degree of initiative and the ability to work as a team player.

Good English communication skills are required as you will be dealing with with customers via an online helpdesk system, face to face meetings with management and occasional phone calls to our UK office. Language training may be offered to candidates showing exceptional skills in other areas.



RESPONSABILITATI / BENEFICII:

You will be joining a young and enthusiastic team and working from our office in central Cluj. As a Technical Support Engineer you will be providing technical support to Layershift's diverse group of customers, primarily via a helpdesk system. You will be troubleshooting issues with Linux web hosting technologies, and resolving the majority of problems independently.

- 1st and 2nd Line Linux Technical Support

- 1st Line Windows Technical Support

- Rotating schedule


Full training in all products you will support

- At least one trip (working and recreational) per year to the UK or elsewhere
