SENIOR QA ENGINEER – IP division – layer 4/7

Overall 3+ years experience in QA or networking
• Clear understanding and industry experience of networking standards such as TCP/IP and control plane session setup for upper layer protocols such as HTTP, SMTP, POP3, RTP, DNS, LDAP, IP video and IPv4/v6 Forwarding.
• Understanding and experience on IP routing, firewalls, load balancing and/or network security.
• Ability to install, configure & debug networking devices.
• Experience in traffic generating and protocol decoding test tools.
• Strong QA Skills on planning, bug isolation, bug report writing, troubleshooting.
• Understanding of software development and QA lifecycle.
• CCNA/CCNP certification is preferred but not a must
• Automation experience in tcl/expect/Tk, Perl or other scripting languages on Windows/Unix environments is preferred but not a requirement
• Highly organized and possessing a keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving and testing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• BS/MS in Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Design, Develop and Execute test plan and test cases to cover functional, scalability, Performance and System testing/characterization of different networking standards specifically in layers 4-7 on several Ixia systems. Clearly track test progress, report results, forecast areas of risk and provide mitigation plans. Perform unit, automation, system, integration and regression testing. Work closely with developers, providing useful debug information and sharing test code/extending developer unit tests. Set up automation test environment that executes redundant manual testing to improve efficiency.
