FORESTRY COORDINATOR (based in Bucharest)

On behalf of our client, IKEA SUPPLY AG, we are recruiting for a Forestry Coordinator role.

Requirements:

• MSc in Forestry, ideally in combination with business studies or advanced knowledge through:
• Around 5 years of qualified working experience:
o Where substantial achievements have been reached as a professional in forestry management, wood processing or timber trade
o With understanding of sustainable forestry, forest certification and other environmental issues,
o Preferably with production and business orientation
o And with proven experience in leading business and people, as line or project manager
• High competence in written and spoken English
• Availability to travel extensively

• Transfer global IKEA forestry strategies into actions both inside the organization and at supplier level,
• Drive the integration of forestry questions in the daily business,
• Secure that IKEA forestry requirements are implemented and followed up at IKEA suppliers,
• Initiate actions needed to increase IKEA sourcing of certified wood volumes and support IKEA suppliers to develop credible and cost efficient wood procurement routines,
• Create and deliver trainings for IKEA suppliers and IKEA business responsibles covering both IKEA forestry requirements and forest certification education,
• Represent IKEA on forest and timber issues in internal and external strategic forums,
• Create and maintain good relations with local NGO’s and forestry authorities,
• Drive development and follow up on implementation of local forestry projects with IKEA partners
• Actively contribute to the development of IKEA forestry strategies and working methods
