Varied job
As a system engineer you are responsible for the optimal performance of the server park; you are responsible for setting up and monitoring our systems and resolving incidents. In addition, you are involved in designing new data centers setups and setting up geographically separate clusters. You safeguard and assure our core processes and investigate the cause of irregularities. You also safeguard and assure the performance of our server park.
We are seeking
An enterprising colleague who has lots of initiative, stays cool under pressure and has an organized work approach. You are analytical and have a strong sense of responsibility. Moreover, you have good communication skills and make yourself easily understood in English.
You have relevant training and a thorough knowledge of Microsoft infrastructures, virtualization, load balancing and DNS concepts. MCSE, VMWare, Juniper, Cisco certifications are an advantage. You keep your knowledge up-to-date by staying abreast of developments in your field of expertise.
You are flexible and willing to work outside office hours. We are a 24/7 operation, which means that our system managers work whenever necessary and at any time that is critical to our business. The standby shifts are rostered in consultation with the team, and you are naturally compensated for this. You also receive compensation for work outside office hours.
