Operations Manager

On behalf of our client, we are looking for a people-driven professional with strong project management abilities, who will be part of the management team and will report to the General Manager.

Essential for your success is an excellent understanding of the complexity of naval design in international projects, combined with the ability to optimally organize, manage and further develop the engineering team in Galati.

As the ideal candidate, you have gained relevant experience in an international engineering environment, preferably within the naval sector as well, with a proven track record in people and project management. Furthermore, you are client-oriented, combining excellent communication skills with a pro-active and pragmatic approach.

You have a University Degree, preferably in Mechanical or Naval Engineering, are fluent in English, and are willing to live and work in Galati.

As a member of the Management Team, you are responsible for the successful delivery of the engineering projects, within budget and plan, according to the quality standards, while satisfying the client expectations. In addition, you are initiating further improvement of international cooperation and communication, project management and procedures, as well as planning and control policies.

As the manager of the entire engineering team, consisting in Engineers, Team Leaders and Project Coordinators, you are responsible for the recruitment, motivation, training, coaching, education, evaluation and career development of a large group of highly qualified specialists.

Our client is one of the largest shipbuilders in Europe, with a worldwide reputation for high quality design and construction of complex marine vessels, employing over 8.500 skilled workers in more than 30 shipyards worldwide. One of their companies, an engineering company in Galati, is of crucial importance in establishing this high quality reputation, working closely together with the other group companies internationally.
