HEAD OF POWER GENERATION & DISTRIBUTION-QATAR

Requirements:

-Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant Engineering Discipline.
-Minimum 10 years direct and relevant trade experience in Power Generation & Distribution Systems in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industries / any major Power Generation Plants.
-Multinational experience
-Fluent in English
-Good communicator, good interpersonal skills
-An understanding of the business economics within the fertilizer/petrochemical industry and the ability to think strategically
-Able to work independently
-Ability to handle multiply tasks

• Develops and manages the O & M budgets. Develops, implements, and monitors goals and objectives. Develops and monitors performance measures. Establishes program/project priorities.
• Knowledge of on-site power plant, systems, operations, maintenance, and environmental processes and procedures.
• Knowledge of power generation concepts, principles, and alternatives.
• Skill in managing around-the-clock operation and maintenance activities.
• Skill in applying sound engineering and/or management principles in identifying, analyzing, and resolving Issues.
• Skill in setting priorities.

• Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical staff.

• Ability to establish meaningful performance measures.
• Ability to create and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
• Analyse abnormal conditions and recommend remedial actions.
• Creates, reviews, or revises procedures/processes to increase efficiency.
• Reports trends, deviations, and compliance, as required.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Optimizes the operations and maintenance of energy plants to minimize costs and maximize reliability.
• He is expected to provide expert technical advice with respect to Qafco’s installed equipment, as well as provide engineering advice for any proposed future projects or modifications with in operating plants.
• He is also expected to provide solutions to certain electrical issues related to Plant operations.
• The incumbent shall have had experience in Power Generation & Operations Systems pertaining to oil & Gas/Petrochemical plants related to Engineering, Plant construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup of the plants.
• He shall be knowledgeable with the relevant international standards, in particular IEC, BS, NFPA, NEC, API etc.
• He shall provide discipline support to project engineers/managers and lead discipline specific engineering teams as necessary. The work will also involve appropriate strategy and policy inputs, advice and guidance, standard setting, apart from ongoing professional input (including complex problem solving and decision making) either outside or in his own area of direct control.
• Technical expertise has to be complemented by the practicalities of planning and budgeting for his discipline
