Location: Bucharest (with some travel required within Romania)
Salary: Starting salary Euro 18,000 per annum
Reports to: Managing Director, Board of Associates
Purpose : To provide marketing expertise, support and co-ordination within the company, to ensure the organisation is successful in identifying, anticipating and meeting the needs of the consumers and customers (including profitably through commercial activities).

Reporting to the Managing Director, on a daily basis, but responsible in front of the Board of Associates for the effectiveness of your efforts, you will play a lead role in identifying, anticipating and meeting the needs of our consumers – the users of our products and customers, with whom we have commercial relations. As the marketing team leader you are responsible for the co-ordination and planning of : market research, product planning, development and support, distribution channels management and promotions management.
We need a self-motivated marketing professional who can work by her/himself, but also together with our customers, collaborators and agencies. We would also expect a good understanding of the sales job, and collaborative relations with the sales department. The successful candidate will be a graduate with five years’ marketing experience in relevant decision making positions (minimum 3 years, but within a big multinational, with the added benefit of exposure and international training), preferably with a diploma-level marketing qualification. Additionally you should be an easy-going person, with an active social life, with numerous connections, understanding various social classes and capable of continuous PR. A good understanding of the IT and communication sector would be an advantage.’

Nature, scope and dimensions of the job: Reporting directly to the managing director and eventually supported by a marketing officer, the marketing manager is within the commercial activity, providing support to the different parts of the organisation, including our network of distributors and dealers. This is both a strategical and tactical position, meaning that it covers from business planning to execution control through specific tools.
The manager is responsible for marketing co-ordination, planning and the following specific functions:
• Marketing research – market, consumer, customer, product, competitor (seeking, recording and processing all necessary data about the consumer needs, practices and habits, market, competitors, the effectiveness of promotions programmes)
• Product planning and development (major contributing to the product mix, ensuring products are in line with consumer needs and customer requirements, testing of products)
• Distribution channels management (indirectly, through specific trade marketing activities) and promotions management - selection of channels; forecasting, budgeting and analysis of sales; cost models for the distributor businesses; organisation of personal selling, direct marketing, advertising, promotional activities
• Public relations and related management activities
• Brand management - leading and holder on branding and branding strategies, together with the board of Associates and specialized collaborators
Budget holder for an estimated Euro 300K per annum, including research, PR and marketing campaigns, without the sales and promotional budgets, that are to be administered together with the Sales manager.
Accountabilities:
• Contribute to business planning (both centers of influence management and commercial) by ensuring first class marketing research and providing expertise on product communication. Work with colleagues and agencies to agree priorities for ongoing marketing support for the different parts of the organisation, such including distributors and dealers;
• Developing and implementing a go-to-market plan, working with the sales department for execution supervision
• Deliver support on marketing research to identify the needs and wants of existing and potential consumers and customers so that the organisation can keep adapting and developing relevant services/products. To devise an overarching marketing research strategy to ensure co-ordination and high standards;
• Contribute to the development of new products / services through marketing research (market, customer, product, competitors), product range /mix planning techniques, market testing of proposals and advice on pricing, distribution and promotion approaches;
• Conceive and administer promotional strategies (including forecasting/ budgeting/ analysis of sales, together with the sales manager) and implementation plans to ensure attendance at events, sales, or publications.
• Contribute to the management and ongoing development of the customers database and mailing/electronic distribution systems to ensure they are effective for marketing purposes
• Provide leadership and management to the marketing officers, within the marketing department
• Work as part of a cross-functional communications team in charge with designing global public relations programs.
• Lead planning and execution of fully-integrated communications strategies designed to generate positive media coverage for a range of the company’s products and services.
• Serve as liaison between group’s communications elsewhere (worldwide) and local communication network to extend the reach and ensure consistency of the organization’s public relations initiatives
• Develop and maintain media relationships.
• Prepare briefing materials for various agencies and collaborators.
• Determine appropriate speaking and presenting venues/opportunities, such including exhibits, trade fares and trade show initiatives.
• Maintain ongoing communications with our business partners form Israel and Hungary
• Manage agencies and consultants relationships
• Assist in budget management

Knowledge, skills and experience (incl. career path to role - how did you get there):
The jobholder will be a graduate with five years experience of marketing with a solid track record of achievement, preferably with a marketing qualification to diploma level. They will have evidence of continuing professional development and a comprehensive knowledge of marketing best practice.
The role requires an individual with good interpersonal skills in order to liaise, influence and build good working relationships within the organisation and outside, with our customers, collaborators and influencers. Strong project management skills are essential as the jobholder will be expected to co-ordinate and manage marketing projects across the organisation. Knowledge of, and/or experience in the IT and communication sector preferred.
